Three Things to Look for in Quality Coffee Machines
Finding coffee machines that will brew right every time
Coffee machines aren’t just for your local coffee shop anymore. And while consumers have bought less expensive coffee machines in the past, they are looking to recreate their daily brew at home. Home coffee machines can make quality brews, but you need to know what to look for.
Purpose
If you’re looking for coffee machines, you’ll have to decide what the main purpose will be. Are you a regular coffee drinker or do you like a mocha in the morning?
There are coffee machines that can do one or the other or both.
If you’re just looking for a morning brew, then you’ll still want quality. Drip coffee machines are easy to use and are great for the every day.
Espresso coffee machines and the new pod coffee machines are great for cup by cup drinking. These will take time and special coffee beans to use, but they’re a nice addition on the weekends or when you have a lot of guests.
Filtering
In these everyday coffee machines, you’re going to want to find a model with a built in filter or a removable gold filter. Experts recommend that you don’t use the traditional paper filters.
Paper filters are bleached to look white, so they can leave that taste in your coffee. And that just isn’t a good thing to swallow.
Filters can also hold back the flavorful oils in the beans.
Did you know. . .The temperature of water needs too be between 195 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit to release the flavor of coffee?
Temperature
Because the coffee bean is ground up into smaller pieces, coffee machines must be able to produce a water temperature that will release the flavors without burning the bean.
But it’s difficult to know if the temperature is going to be hot enough before you buy coffee machines, so try a pot as soon as you buy it.
Brew plain water and measure the temperature. If it’s not hot enough, return it.
Another special tip
Even if you still have old coffee machines, you can use this tip to make your coffee taste great.
Right before the pot is done brewing; remove the grounds and the filter.
This along with a simple stir before serving keeps coffee from tasting bitter, even coming from less than standard coffee machines.
