You Don’t Have to Be a Barista to Make Cuban Espresso Coffee Recipes

How to make Cuban espresso coffee recipes in your own home

Cuban espresso coffee recipes are a time honored tradition in Cuba. And while the cigars may be illegal, the Cuban espresso coffee recipes are not. These Cuban espresso coffee recipes will bring you back to hot afternoons playing dominoes and small cups of espresso.

Where to make your cup

Cuban espresso coffee recipes begin on your stovetop at home.

In a small pot, you’ll want to heat about an ounce of filtered water over a low flame (or medium heat if you have an electric stove). When the water boils, you will need to add one tablespoon of ground coffee.

Cuban espresso coffee recipes indicate that you should then stir the coffee in the water and bring it to a boil again.

Using a Cuban flannel strainer (found at Cuban stores and markets), you will filter the espresso from the brew into a coffee cup.

Your traditional filters of paper will not work for Cuban espresso coffee recipes.

Another one

If you have an aluminum stovetop espresso machine, you can make the second of these Cuban coffee espresso recipes.

Heat the kettle with low to medium heat.

Top it off

In Cuba, this is called coffee con leche (with milk).
